Since the age of 2, Jake Thompson has been fully enthralled by the art of Puppetry. Inspired by the life and work of the great Jim Henson, Jake began writing and performing his own puppet shows for family party's at home. That quickly grew into something much bigger. At the age of 11 in 2016, Jake began producing NL NOW, a weekly puppet hosted talk and variety show that Jake would film in the basement of his parents home with his Dad behind the camera. The show became an instant hit right across the province with local celebrities jumping at the chance to appear alongside Jake's puppet creations. Early guests included comedic legends like Pete Soucy (Snook), talented and nationally recgonized musical groups like Hey Rosetta! NL NOW was picked up by local television station RogersTV Channel 9, and ran there for 4 seasons attracting over 100 special guests including Fred Penner, Rick Mercer, Mark Critch, & Alan Doyle. In 2021 the show was then picked up by international broadcaster NTV, where it still airs today and is currently in production for it's sixth season of that iteration of the program. Jake also created, co-wrote, and starred in 'The Adventures of Gary & Lou" a children's educational/entertaining mini series for FibeTV1.
